DESIGN SOLUTION

OUR CAPABILITIES

PRODUCT DESIGN

Good design and tool making helps to minimise the cost of material, machining time and labour. Wahl works closely with its clients throughout the concept development and design using 3D CAD, SolidWorx and Dialux.

3D RENDERING

The model allows for realistic renderings. Detailed drawingsand geometry for CNC programs to machine the moulds are all extrapolated from the 3D model.

3D PRINTING

New-generation technology allows us to design and test prototypes before manufacturing ensuring a new standard of quality and reliability in the final product. With true-to-life objects quickly and easily enabling quicker testing and prototyping to refine elements for production at a later stage.

HOW WE WORK

Our years of experience in the foundry industry has placed it perfectly to advise on product solutions for companies seeking product that is cost effective, light weight, locally manufactured and of high quality. Good design and tool making helps to minimise the cost of material, machining time and labour.

We work closely with our clients throughout the concept development and design stages to ensure specifications are met. After consultation with the client a brief is set up and concepts are drawn up with the aid of brainstorming and drawing from the vast multidisciplinary experience that Wahl has at its disposal.

To achieve a world class quality and cost effective product we makes use 3D CAD and all the benefits that come with it. From the outset one can visualise the product in detail, manipulate the design to suit by dynamically adding, modifying, moving parts in an assembly to ensure optimum product efficiency.

WHY 3D MODELING?

3D model can be used for marketing of the product, even before it exists, as the model allows for realistic renderings. Detail drawings (engineering drawings) and geometry for CNC programs to machine the moulds are all extrapolated from the 3D model.

With a 3D model and at the discretion of the client, one can also have a prototype made, either machined on a CNC or by Rapid Prototyping. This allows for the product to be analysed further avoiding costly delays in the tooling and it also may used fitment and appropriate testing.

3D printing enables us to further get component weights, tooling cavity and cores, all of which help speed up the process and strive for a cost effective, better and quicker idea to product cycle with less surprises along the way. Well designed products benefit all the disciplines in the product development cycle.
